In my sophomore year in Garnet Valley High School, I sheepishly entered a poetry contest for fun. I did not realize that by entering into this contest, I would have the privilege of becoming a published writer! My poem, My Dreamcatcher, was one of the writing that was selected to be published in a book titled Treasured.
In the summer of 2017, I had the privilege of attending Younglife's summer camp to Rockbridge, Virginia. During the camp, I stepped out of my comfort zone and participated in zip-lining, a ropes course, horseback riding, a "Sasquatch-Fighter" training that involved lots of uphill running, and a deeper, closer relationship to Jesus. I left camp feeling exhausted but with a new commitment to Jesus Christ.
Running my first half marathon.
In my sophomore year, I was a very dedicated runner. I spent nearly all of my free time working on improving my running. On October 16, 2016, I ran my first half marathon. Even though I was not in the best shape of my life (malnourished and underweight), I completed the race and felt incredibly accomplished. To the left is a picture of the medal I received for being a finisher.
